TACLOBAN CITY — The Eastern Visayas Medical Center (EVMC), based here, launched on Wednesday a campaign for toxics-free and zero-waste hospitals aimed at reducing plastic use and improving healthcare waste management. The campaign was highlighted by the rollout of the “Nurse Susie” roadshow at the medical center’s Outpatient Department. The initiative forms part of the Toxics-Free Hospitals Campaign under the Philippine Healthcare and Mercury Wastes Management Project (HCWM Project), which promotes sustainable practices in hospitals to protect both public health and the environment.
