MANILA, Philippines — The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has temporarily halted the operations of the power spot market as prices are seen hitting P9 per kilowatt-hour (kwh) amid the Middle East crisis. The operations of the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) across the Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao grids are suspended effective March 25 to avoid further price surges.
