Parasailing horror in Phuket - Russian tourists plummet 50 metres into sea after mid-air failure

"Russian tourists Emil and Galina fell into the ocean from a height of around 50 metres while parasailing in Phuket. Footage captured on March 18 shows the couple soaring above the water before suddenly beginning to descend and plunging into the sea. According to media reports, they had taken off with an instructor when the cable reportedly jerked violently mid-flight, causing a sudden loss of speed and altitude. The parachute then dropped, sending all three people into the water. Galina was able to swim back to safety on her own, while Emil was rescued by local residents who pulled him onto a jet ski. The organisers of the activity did not provide an explanation for the incident at the time. Instead, the couple were reportedly offered a return flight as compensation. The tourists suspect the crash may have been caused by a technical malfunction on the boat, such as a lack of fuel."
