Last week, as Ireland hit a record tally of 17,000 homeless, a convoy of 13 vehicles containing private security men and demolition contractors drove into a site at Faughan Hill, Bohermeen, Co Meath and demolished a perfectly good luxury five bedroom family home at a likely cost of more than €250,000.
