PVL: Alyssa Valdez stands by final try despite Creamline loss

MANILA, Philippines — Alyssa Valdez turned in a vintage all-around performance, but Creamline Cool Smashers still fell short against Cignal HD Spikers and were pushed to a final play-in game in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference. Valdez finished with 18 points, 20 excellent receptions and 19 digs, but her attempt to force a tie in the extended fifth set went wide as Cignal completed a 25-21, 24-26, 18-25, 25-22, 17-15 comeback win on Thursday night at Smart Araneta Coliseum to secure the second semifinals berth.
