Lanao del Sur cops recover P12.8-M in smuggled cigarettes

COTABATO CITY  – Police seized a haul of unattended boxes containing imported cigarettes along the coastline of Malabang town, Lanao del Sur, on Thursday. Colonel Caezar Cabuhat, Lanao del Sur police director, said operatives from the provincial mobile force company and Malabang municipal police office were conducting shoreline patrol at 1:30 a.m. along Barangay Bunkhouse when they discovered the abandoned boxes. Upon inspection, authorities counted 220 boxes of assorted cigarettes, with an estimated value of P12,870,000.
