Sweden agrees to sell 100-150 Gripen fighter jets to Ukraine

Sweden will sell between 100 and 150 JAS 39 Gripen fighter jets to Ukraine under a new letter of intent signed during a visit by Volodymyr Zelensky to the Saab factory in Linköping. The aircraft are expected to be delivered over a period of 10 to 15 years. The deal is the largest of its kind in Sweden’s history and marks a shift in its arms export policy. It was announced by Ulf Kristersson following bilateral talks between the two leaders. Kristersson confirmed that negotiations are ongoing to determine how the deal will be financed.
