Caap extends flight ban near Bulusan, Kanlaon, Taal until Oct. 15

MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) has extended its previously issued Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) covering flights near Bulusan Volcano in Sorsogon, Kanlaon Volcano in Negros Island, and Taal Volcano in Batangas until Wednesday morning, October 15. In its latest advisory released on Tuesday, Caap said the extension of the NOTAM was released “to ensure aviation safety.” According to Caap, the NOTAM for Bulusan is now effective from 8:39 a.m. this Tuesday until 9 a.m. on Wednesday, with vertical limits from the surface up to 10,000 feet. OCBO Officer-in-Charge Architect Khashayar L. Toghyani mandated strict compliance for establishments issued Red Tags (Occupancy Prohibited, Severe Damage) and Yellow Tags (Restricted Use, Moderate Damage) after the October 10 earthquake. Red-tagged buildings include Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (Admin/School Buildings) and Teleperformance Davao.
