CEBU CITY, Philippines — The University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM) Webmasters seized the solo lead in the CESAFI Season 25 high school basketball standings after a lopsided 55-37 victory over the Benedicto College (BC) Cheetahs on Thursday, October 16, at the Cebu Coliseum. MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine passport dropped to 79th place in the 2025 Henley Passport Index (HPI), six slots lower from last year's 73rd ranking The Philippines tied with Sierra Leone for the 79th place out of 199 passports reviewed for their strength. Singapore led the top 10 passports followed by South Korea, Japan, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, and Belgium. Philippine passport holders can travel visa-free or with an e-visa to 64 destinations worldwide. These are: Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Brunei, Burundi, Cambodia, Cape Verde Islands, Colombia, Comoro Islands, Cook Islands, Costa Rica, Cote d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Dominica, Ethiopia, Fiji, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Micronesia, Mongolia, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Nicaragua, Niue, Palau Islands, Palestinian Territory, Peru, Rwanda, Samoa, Senegal, Seychelles, Singapore, Sri Lanka, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and Grenadines, Suriname, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, The Gambia, Timor-Leste, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Vietnam. The HPI, in its website, said that it was the original authoritative ranking of all the world's passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. The index is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association - the largest, most accurate travel information database - and enhanced by Henley and Partners' research team. The HPI compared visa-free access of 199 passports to 227 travel destinations. If no visa is required, then a score with value = 1 is created for that passport.
