Steppe spirit in Tianjin - Kyrgyz President Japarov arrives for high-profile SCO summit

"Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov arrived in the Chinese city of Tianjin on Sunday to attend the high-stakes Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) 2025 summit. Footage shows Japarov's plane, marked with Kyrgyzstan's national eagle, taxiing at the airport as soldiers, performers and journalists stand by. The president disembarks, walks the red carpet with Chinese officials, and gets into a car. The 25th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO, chaired by Chinese President Xi Jinping, is scheduled to take place from August 31 through September 1. The upcoming meeting promises to be the largest in history. Leaders from more than 20 countries and representatives of international organisations have confirmed their participation. They will discuss economic co-operation on technology, innovation and artificial intelligence, as well as issues of regional security and sustainable development. The SCO brings together 10 member states, 14 dialogue partners and two observer countries. China also holds its landmark 80th anniversary Victory Parade in Beijing on September 3, attended by many world leaders and dignitaries."
