'We will come back stronger!' - Hundreds gather in Antananarivo as Madagascar lose historic CHAN final

"Hundreds of Malagasy supporters gathered in Antananarivo on Saturday to cheer on their nation in the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024) final against Morocco. Footage shows large crowds packed with families and children watching anxiously as their team took to the field. Fans erupted in celebration, waving Malagasy flags and blowing horns as the Barea scored two goals. Despite the result, the joyous atmosphere remained throughout the night as supporters danced and set off fireworks to mark the momentous occasion. "We just watched the final between Barea and Morocco. They were defeated 3–2, but despite the loss, they worked hard and gave everything. We clearly saw the great effort they put in, and we will come back stronger in the future," said supporter Kevin. Despite only making their second-ever CHAN appearance, Madagascar reached the final for the first time in the country's history, defeating Sudan and Kenya along the way. Morocco, one of the tournament favourites, fell behind early but rallied in the second half to secure a 3-2 victory and claim their third CHAN championship."
