Flying high! Vietnam’s aviation exhibition celebrates decades of soaring success by navigating history and innovation

"Crowds gathered on Thursday for the opening of Hanoi’s Aviation Exhibition at the National Exhibition and Fair Centre (VEC), where historic artifacts met cutting-edge AI technologies in a showcase of Vietnam’s aviation past and future. The exhibition highlights Vietnam's impressive strides in airport management, passenger experience enhancements, and safety innovations, positioning the nation as an emerging global aviation hub. Footage depicts a sprawling outdoor space covering 1,500 sq m dedicated to the exhibition, showcasing civil aircraft, helicopters, aircraft engines, and providing an opportunity for visitors to enter aircraft and tour cockpits for an immersive experience. “I feel a deep sense of pride visiting the exhibition that showcases our country’s remarkable achievements. Within the Vietnam Aviation section, I witnessed the milestones of 50 years of progress in the aviation industry," said visitor Le Viet Cuong. The exhibition features the display of the IL-14 (VN-C482) aircraft, which was historically used by President Ho Chi Minh and other leaders during the resistance against the US, symbolising Vietnam's rich aviation heritage. Visitors can enter an Airbus A320, used for training aerospace engineers and pilots, participate in emergency evacuation drills, and explore artefacts that trace Vietnam's aviation evolution. The exhibition, held from August 28 to September 5, serves as a cornerstone of the ‘80 Years of Independence – Freedom – Happiness’ celebrations as part of the 80th-anniversary festivities for Vietnam's National Day, which falls on September 2."
