'European Union is not a Soviet Union' - Macron praises euro integration for Chisinau during country's 34th Independence day
"French President Emmanuel Macron, called euro integration 'a clear choice' for Moldova speaking in Chisinau on Wednesday. "Kremlin propaganda tells us that Europeans want to prolong the war and that the European Union oppresses people. These are lies. Unlike Russia, the European Union threatens no one; and it respects the sovereignty of each individual," he said. "It is a union where everyone decides to enter freely, sovereignly, and where the sovereignty of all is respected. It is a union of prosperity and peace. The European Union is in not a Soviet Union." The leaders of Germany, France and Poland arrived in Moldova to meet with President Maia Sandu, marking the start of the parliamentary election campaign, and the country's 34th independence day. Moldova is one of eight candidate countries for EU membership. It follows media reports of the bloc attempting to interfere in elections in Romania and Poland. Telegram boss Pavel Durov even claimed that French intelligence had asked him to 'silence conservative voices' in Romania's presidential vote, which France denied."
