Modi arrives in Tianjin - Indian PM welcomed to China by crowds and cultural performances ahead of SCO summit

"Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Tianjin on Saturday, as China prepares to host the 25th Shanghai Co-operation Organisation (SCO) Summit. Footage shows Modi disembarking from airplane and shaking hands with the officials meeting him. Crowds cheered as Modi entered and greeted the residents, while musicians and dancers performed to welcome high-ranking guest. The 25th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO, chaired by Chinese President Xi Jinping, is scheduled to take place from August 31 through September 1. The upcoming meeting promises to be the largest in history. Leaders from more than 20 countries and representatives of international organisations have confirmed their participation. They will discuss economic co-operation on technology, innovation and artificial intelligence, as well as issues of regional security and sustainable development. The SCO brings together 10 member states, 14 dialogue partners and two observer countries. China also holds its landmark 80th anniversary Victory Parade in Beijing on September 3, attended by many world leaders and dignitaries."
