'No port for genocide!' - Journalists rally in Barcelona to denounce killing of reporters in Gaza

"Protesters, including journalists, rallied in central Barcelona on Wednesday to condemn the killing of five reporters in Gaza following an Israeli airstrike on Nasser Hospital, which claimed at least 21 lives. Footage shows protesters holding signs and banners bearing slogans such as 'no port for genocide' as well as pictures of the five assassinated journalists. They are later seen marching with Palestinian flags and calling for boycotts outside branches of McDonald’s and KFC. The Israeli airstrike on Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza was described as a 'double-tap' strike, with a second missile hitting right after rescuers and reporters arrived. A few hours later, a sixth journalist was killed in Khan Younis, bringing the total to six on that day and 246 since October 2023, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Hussam al-Masri, a camera operator contracted by Reuters, Mohammed Salama, a photographer for Al-Jazeera, and Mariam Dagga, a freelancer for Associated Press - as well as reporters Moaz Abu Taha and Ahmed Abu Aziz - were among those confirmed killed. Israel claimed it was targeting a Hamas surveillance camera, which the group denied, sparking international condemnation. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu termed the incident a 'tragic mishap'. The Hamas-Israel war in Gaza broke out on October 7, 2023, when the group launched an unprecedented attack on Israel, killing 1,139 people and kidnapping more than 200 others, according to the Israeli side. The Israeli military conducted a widespread military operation across Gaza, with more than 62,000 people killed at the time of publication, according to Palestinian officials."
