Niko  tayari kuchukua majukuma ya usimamizi kibiashara na hata kisiasa,” akasema kwenye hotuba yake kwa waombolezaji. Raila Junior alisema hayo akiwa amebeba mgwisho (fly whisky) ya baba na kuvalia kofia linaloashiria taji.  Kofia hiyo ilikuwa ikivaliwa na babu yake, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga. Awali, katika majengo ya Bunge ambako mwili wa Odinga ulilazwa kwa ajili ya kutazamwa na viongozi wakuu wa serikali na wabunge, Junior pia alifika hapo akibebe mgwisho huo akiwa amevalia kofia hiyo maalum. Alipokuwa akitoa heshima zake Junior alipeperusha mgwisho huku na kule,  juu ya mwili wa babake huku watu wa familia ya Odinga wakisimama kando yake. Raila Junior alikamilisha heshima zake kwa kuinamisha kichwa mbele ya mwili wa babake, kama ishara ya heshima. Katika utamaduni wa jamii ya Waluo, mgwisho, unaojulikama kama “orengo ” ni kiashirio kikuu cha uongozi, mamlaka na heshima iliyotunukiwa wazee na machifu. Mgwisho hutumika katika hafla za kimataduni, kisiasa na sherehe  mbalimbali. Sawa na marehemu babake, Raila Odinga alikuwa akibeba mgwisho katika mikutano yake ya kisiasa na nyakati za kutoa heshima zake katika hafla za mazishi, haswa za watu mashuhuri na aliowaenzi. Kwa mfano, alitumia mgwisho mnamo Aprili 12, 2025 wakati wa mazishi ya aliyekuwa mlinzi wake Geoge Oduor, Asembo, Siaya na wakati wa mazishi ya aliyekuwa mbunge wa Kaspul Charles Ong’ondo Were mnamo Mei 12, 2025.
