MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Navy has deployed one of its Miguel Malvar-class ships to India to participate during the drills there. Navy spokesperson Capt. Marissa Martinez said the FFG-006 left the country over the weekend en route to India. India has regularly conducted maritime drills with the country in the West Philippine Sea as New Delhi seeks to bolster its influence in the Indo-Pacific region.
