'Puno ng Puso ang Paskong Pinoy': Behind at the scenes at the GMA Christmas Station ID 2025

GMA Network finally unveiled this year's Christmas Station ID with the theme “Puno ng Puso ang Paskong Pinoy” on Sunday, November 9. In time for its 75th anniversary this 2025, the new Christmas Station ID has a more meaningful and deeper meaning as it focuses on the seven Filipino core values: makadiyos, mapagmahal sa pamilya, mapagmalasakit, makabayan, masayahin, malikhain, and maabilidad. MANILA, Philippines — A total of 12 floodgates have been unlocked to release water from five major Luzon dams including Angat Dam, the main source of water supply for Metro Manila, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Sunday. Pagasa’s Hydrometeorology Division said three gates each were opened in Angat and Ipo dams both located in Norzagaray, Bulacan; and two each in Ambuklao, Binga and Magat dams. With its normal high water level (NHWL) at 210 meters (m), Angat dam’s reservoir water level (RWL) as of 8 a.m. on Sunday was 208.95m while Ipo’s RWL was measured at 100.05m against its 101.10 m spilling level. Pagasa said Ambuklao’s water level was at 749.48m, almost near its NHWL of 752m. Binga’s is also near its spilling or overflow level at 573.20m against its normal level of 575m. Located at the boundary of the provinces of Ifugao and Isabela, Magat dam, which has 193m NHWL, is releasing water with an outflow of 894.50 centimeters, the weather bureau said. Pagasa hydrologists said local authorities and the public have been advised to be more vigilant especially in Barangay Ambuclao in Bokod, and the villages of Dalupirip and Tinongdan in Itogon, Benguet. Affected areas by Magat dam’s discharge include the towns of Ramon, San Mateo, Aurora, Cabatuan, Luna, Reina, Mercedes, Burgos, Naguillian and Gamu in Isabela as well as Alfonso Lista in Ifugao.

MANILA, Philippines — Amid reported complaints of discrimination against victims of Typhoon Tino in Cebu, Sen. Erwin Tulfo called on the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to ensure that the victims receive the appropriate amount of government assistance. MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has issued Executive Order No. 105, which adjusts the import duty on rice at a flexible rate between 15 percent and 35 percent, depending on world market prices. Signed on Nov. 7 but released by Malacañang only on Sunday, EO 105 also creates the Inter-Agency Group on Rice Tariff Adjustment, which shall formulate the guidelines on the increase or decrease of tariffs imposed on imported rice.
