MANILA, Philippines — Fuel prices will go up on Tuesday, Nov. 11, for the third straight week, oil companies announced on Monday. Shell, Seaoil, Cleanfuel, and Petrogazz said gasoline prices will go up by P0.50 per liter, and diesel by P1.00 per liter. The cost of kerosene will increase by P0.90 per liter. MANILA, Philippines – Typhoon "Uwan" has maintained its strength as it continues to move west-northwestward over the West Philippine Sea (WPS) but storm signals are still up over parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, the state-run weather agency said on Monday. Nathaniel Servando, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Signal No. 4 remained over: 1. the western portion of Nueva Vizcaya, 2. the western portion of Mountain Province, 3. the southern portion of Abra, 4. the western portion of Ifugao, 5. Benguet, 6. the central and southern portions of Ilocos Sur, 7. La Union, and 8. the northern and western portions of Pangasinan. Servando said Metro Manila, along with nearby provinces – Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Bulacan – remained under Signal No. 2 while other areas in Luzon were either under Signal No. 3 and Signal No. 1. In the Visayas, Signal No. 1 is still up over: 1. the northwestern portion of Northern Samar, 2. the northern portion of Iloilo, 3. Capiz, 4. Aklan, and 5. the northern and central portions of Antique including Caluya Islands. Pagasa’s latest bulletin indicated that the center of the eye of Uwan was estimated at 125 kilometers west-northwest of Bacnotan, La Union while moving at 20 kilometers per hour (kph) with maximum sustained winds of 150kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185kph. Over the next 12 hours, Uwan will move west-northwestward and northward over the West Philippine Sea and was forecast to re-intensify Tuesday. The typhoon will likely exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility early Tuesday morning, Pagasa said.
