'She speaks to all kinds of generations': Brigitte Bardot dies aged 91

French film legend Brigitte Bardot has died at 91, the Bardot foundation announced on Sunday (December 28). Bardot starred in more than 50 movies during her career before leaving the film industry to concentrate on animal rights activism. Bardot became a controversial figure in her later decades, with public comments and writing that led to five convictions for inciting hatred. UK Treasury to cover Bayeux Tapestry for estimated €917 million

France is preparing to transport the historic Bayeux Tapestry to England this coming summer. But concerns remain about whether the transfer of this valuable artifact will be secure enough, especially in the wake of the infamous Louvre heist. The Bayeux ​Tapestry is set to be covered by a UK Treasury indemnity of about 800 million ‌pounds (€917 million) during its loan to the British Museum in 2026, the Financial Times report.
