'We want this govt to move forward' - Peru's regional authorities support interim pres Jeri after meeting in Lima

"Regional governors of Peru expressed their support for interim President Jose Jeri on Monday, while also sharing their main concerns during a working meeting in the Tupac Amaru Hall of the Government Palace in Lima. Footage shows Jeri bidding farewell to the governors at the main entrance of the Government Palace, after which the officials reaffirmed their support for the former legislator in remarks to the press. Rosa Vazquez, Regional Governor of Lima, said the governors offered Jeri 'recommendations' aimed at ensuring the country's stability and voiced hope that he will choose his new ministers carefully following the resignation of all 18 cabinet members under ousted president Dina Boluarte. "That he chooses his ministers wisely, not ministers from a folder, [but] ministers who go to the field and solve the problems that exist today. We want this government to move forward, because the success of this transitional government is the development of our communities," she said. Wilfredo Oscorima, Regional Governor of Ayacucho, called on political forces to 'set aside personal party interests' and maintain unity to 'defeat crime and poverty.' Similarly, Jorge Perez, Regional Governor of Lambayeque, urged the Congress of Peru to understand that "political problems cannot outweigh the needs" of the country. He noted that while Peru faces issues of security and hunger, there are officials who are "calculating politically to benefit in one way or another for the next elections." The regional governors agreed to hold a technical meeting with Jose Jeri's new cabinet on 21 October. After the dismissal of Dina Boluarte, accused of alleged corruption and human rights violations, Jeri assumed the position of interim president, which he will hold until the new elections scheduled for April 2026."

Martin Sheen Says 'Big Guy' Donald Trump Has 'Got To Realise' This 1 Brutal Reality

Martin Sheen took on "big guy" Donald Trump and his Cabinet on Monday by offering "some personal advice" for the president. Martin Sheen took on Donald Trump and his Cabinet on Monday, by offering some “personal advice” for the president. “You got to realise, sir, that you are the biggest nothing in the world,” said the West Wing actor during an MSNBC live event with host Nicolle Wallace . The three-time Emmy winner, following several seconds of applause from the crowd, proceeded to urge Trump to “stop there”. “You stop listening to all these people around you, these sycophants who are encouraging you to be your non-human self,” he advised. “Get in touch with that humanity. Stop fussing with your hair, don’t worry about your tie and stand up straight and speak clearly, not from your throat. Speak from your heart and start being human. That’s what you were made for, not golf. “So there you are Mr. President – with all due respect, sir.” Moments earlier, Sheen – who had previously slammed Trump and endorsed Joe Biden before campaigning for Kamala Harris last year – stressed that there’s a lack of Trump officials in touch with their “own personal humanity”. “When you look at this group of people at the round table, in the White House, the Cabinet room, every one of those people look across the table and they do not see anyone who is better than they are. They generally see a reflection of their worth selves,” he said. “So there’s no heroes in there, there’s no music, there’s no laughter, there’s no self-effacement, there’s no joy in that room. It smells of ego and fear and false worship.” READ MORE: Robert De Niro Drops A Royal F-Bomb On Trump’s ‘King Donald I’ Dreams Screen Icon Richard Gere Tears Into 'Crazy' Trump: 'He's A Dark, Dark Presence' Ariana Grande Shares Pretty Blunt Question For Trump Supporters
