"At least 100 people were injured on Monday morning when two passenger trains collided in Slovakia’s eastern Kosice region, emergency officials reported. Footage shows rescue teams and paramedics working at the crash site, where both trains derailed upon impact. A helicopter ambulance was also seen airlifting several of the injured to nearby hospitals. The collision occurred near the village of Jablonov nad Turnou, around 55 kilometres (34 miles) west of Kosice, the region’s main city. Authorities said there were no immediate fatalities, though dozens sustained serious injuries. Preliminary reports suggest the trains collided on a section where the tracks merge into a single line. Officials have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, while rescue operations continued through the morning."
