Stepping into fairytale! Seoul unveils city's first permanent digital art facade at Baebongsan Park
"Seoul unveiled its first permanent digital‑art facade at Baebongsan Park, Forest Waterfall, turning the area into a dazzling night‑time attraction. Footage captured on Friday shows a rock wall lit with vibrant projections, featuring media installations including digital waterfalls and forests, as visitors watch the display. "It feels like a new kind of genre. I'm amazed by how they've created this, and it really shows how much our country has advanced," a visitor said. "Since it's surrounded by nature, it feels like I've stepped into a fairy tale. I think it would be especially nice to come here with children," added a second. The project, developed by EZwith Co., Ltd. in collaboration with the Dongdaemun District Office, was led by a general director from the Seoul Institute of the Arts. The project features three ten-minute shows - Breath of Stone, Light of Breath, and Wildflowers in Bloom - blending natural and digital effects through projection mapping, lasers, 3D scanning, and AI-based compositing. Officials said the project gives visitors a new cultural experience and makes the park lively at night without travelling far. They plan to update the visuals each season, run art programmes for the public, and improve the night-time walking trails. The display runs daily from 18:00 to 20:30 local time (09:00-11:30 GMT), with shows every 30 minutes, and is free to the public."
