'Doing utmost to alleviate their suffering' – Egyptian Sumud Flotilla prepares humanitarian aid lorries bound for Gaza

"Members of the Egyptian Sumud Flotilla loaded lorries with humanitarian supplies in Cairo on Sunday, ahead of its delivery to Gaza via the Egyptian Red Crescent centre in Ismailia. Footage shows the volunteers organising the supplies and loading aid onto lorries. "We have over five tonnes of food and medical aid that will be delivered today via three trucks from the Sumud Flotilla headquarters in Cairo," explained Flotilla spokesperson Hossam Mahmoud. "The largest portion of food supplies includes flour, rice, pasta, dry goods, and legumes. As for medical supplies, we've focused on medications for chronic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes, as well as insulin," noted fellow Flotilla member Ziad Bassiouni. "I want to help ease the burden on the people of Gaza … I'm here to do my utmost to alleviate their suffering," stated a volunteer involved in the delivery. The Gaza ceasefire came into force at noon on Friday, with Israeli forces 'repositioning along adjusted deployment lines' as stipulated by the agreement. This came after the Israeli government officially endorsed the first phase of the agreement on Thursday. On September 29, Trump unveiled his 20-point Gaza plan alongside Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu. The plan itself would see an immediate end to fighting, with the release of all hostages alive or dead within 72 hours, as well as 250 Palestinians serving life sentences and 1,700 Gazans who were detained after October 7. It would also see the comprehensive supply of aid into Gaza, amnesty for Hamas members who agreed to peace, or safe passage out for others, with no one forced to leave the enclave. Hamas conditionally accepted the US-brokered plan, offering to release Israeli captives through Qatari and Egyptian mediators if Israel would agree to a lasting peace and full withdrawal. In the early hours of October 9, a final agreement was officially signed, securing the return of all living hostages and the remains of the deceased, the release of an agreed-upon number of Palestinian prisoners, and the immediate flow of humanitarian and medical aid to Gaza. 'Revolutionary exploits will be immortal' - DPRK's Kim honours late leaders at Kumsusan Palace on Workers' Party 80th anniversary *STILLS*

"Democratic People's Republic of Korea's (DPRK) leader Kim Jong-un concluded commemorations of the Workers' Party’s 80th anniversary on Sunday with a celebratory mass performance, followed by a visit to the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun in Pyongyang. Images released by the Korean Central News Agency on Monday show Kim addressing performers at a mass gymnastics event and paying tribute to his father and grandfather, Kim Jong-il and Kim Il-sung, at the family mausoleum. "The revolutionary exploits of the great leaders who laid a solid cornerstone for the durable existence and victorious development of our party and state will be immortal along with the steady prosperity of socialist Korea," Kim reportedly stated. DPRK leader last visited the family mausoleum for the party's 70th anniversary in 2015 and again for the 75th anniversary in 2020. His visit concluded DPRK's celebratory events during the week, including a military parade for the October 10 party anniversary, attended by foreign dignitaries including Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Vietnamese leader To Lam and Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev."
