'Bravery and self-sacrifice' - Medvedev praises Kim Jong-un for DPRK troops' heroism in Kursk during Pyongyang meeting

"Russian Security Council Deputy Chair Dmitri Medvedev extended gratitude to the leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Kim Jong-un, for the sacrifice of the country's soldiers in Kursk, during a meeting in Pyongyang on Friday. Images released by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Saturday show Kim and Medvedev shaking hands and embracing before entering the meeting room for discussions. According to the KCNA, Medvedev praised the 'bravery and self-sacrifice' of the DPRK soldiers in Kursk border region. He also expressed Russia's willingness to promote cooperation with Pyongyang. In return, Kim conveyed his greetings to Russian President Vladimir Putin, affirming the country's commitment to advancing mutual exchange. The leader also sought to bolster ties between the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the United Russia Party. Medvedev arrived in Pyongyang on Thursday, ahead of celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the WPK. In April, the governments of both countries confirmed the deployment of DPRK troops to Russia, with soldiers reported to be operating together in the Kursk border region."
